Garden edges, mowing strips and driveway borders poured straight and level, so bark, soil and lawn stay put instead of washing onto your concrete after every downpour.
Four details is all we need. We get back to you the same working day to book a time that suits.
A raised garden bed next to a driveway or path always wins eventually. Bark and soil wash forward every time it rains, and a spade edge cut into grass lasts about one summer before it disappears. A concrete kerb solves it once, with a hard level line the garden cannot cross and the mower can run straight along.
It also protects the edge of the driveway or path itself. Without a kerb, the unsupported edge of a slab is the part most likely to chip under a wheel that clips it, or crumble under years of foot traffic wearing away an unprotected lawn to concrete joint.
Ground around Tauranga varies a lot over a short distance. Loose coastal sand through Papamoa and the Mount, heavier clay out towards Pyes Pa and Ohauiti, and orchard blocks with gravel driveways out around Te Puke and Katikati that were never edged in the first place. We compact the base to suit whatever we find under your kerb line.
Rounded top edge, the standard for garden borders. Comfortable if you ever step on it, and forgiving on a mower wheel.
A crisper, more architectural line. Pairs well with a driveway or entry that has a square edged finish.
Wider and flush with the lawn rather than raised, so a mower wheel rolls straight over it instead of needing to be lifted.
A stepped profile that transitions a driveway down to road or path level, common at the base of a new vehicle crossing.
Priced per linear metre, supplied and laid, GST included. Longer continuous runs bring the rate down, tight curves, steps in level and colour all push it back up.
Bullnose or square, machine laid
Wider flush profile, hand or machine formed
Oxide through the mix to match a driveway
Reinforced, ties into drainage or a crossing
Short runs, crew and setup included
A straight 40 metre run and a curvy 15 metre garden edge can end up costing about the same.

The ground gets dug to a consistent depth along the whole run, base course brought in and compacted where the soil is soft, then boxing or the kerbing machine sets the line and the profile. Concrete goes in, gets struck to shape, and control joints are cut at consistent spacing once it has firmed up.
On a driveway border we tie the kerb into the existing slab's drainage falls so water still runs to where it is meant to, rather than pooling against a new edge.

Ask us in the quote formIt draws a hard, level line between lawn, garden bed, driveway and path so mulch, bark and soil stay put instead of washing onto the concrete after rain. It also protects the unsupported edge of a driveway or path from chipping under a wheel.
A machine extrudes a continuous ribbon in one pass, best for long straight or gently curved runs. Hand formed uses timber boxing and suits tight curves, garden shapes or short sections. We pick whichever suits your job and price it accordingly.
It changes the base prep. Coastal sand around Papamoa and the Mount compacts differently to inland clay, so we bring in and compact a firmer base course under the kerb line to stop it settling unevenly.
Kerbing is thin, so it moves more than a full slab. Control joints at the right spacing and a compacted base keep any movement tidy. Fine hairline cracks are normal and not a structural issue.
A basic garden edge usually does not. A kerb retaining a bank, or doubling as a driveway border that gets a wheel over it occasionally, gets light mesh or fibre so it does not shear off at the edge.
Yes. Oxide colour and a bullnose or square profile can be matched to what it sits against, so it reads as one job rather than an obvious add on.
Most residential kerbing runs are poured within a day, with the machine or boxing lifted once the concrete has taken its initial set. Longer runs may need a second day.
Yes, there is a practical minimum since a crew still needs to turn up regardless of length. We tell you that number up front rather than quoting a 6 metre garden edge the same as a 40 metre driveway border.
